About Raid 2

Raid 2 is a sequel to the 2018 film Raid, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. Ajay Devgn returns as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who leads a massive income tax raid on the property of Dada Manohar Bhai, played by Riteish Deshmukh.

  • Riteish Deshmukh plays the main villain in the film.
  • Vaani Kapoor appears as the female lead.

The original Raid was inspired by a real-life income tax raid from the 1980s. The sequel brings a new antagonist and bigger action.

What Riteish Deshmukh Said About Playing the Villain

In an interview with ANI News, Riteish shared:

“I didn’t plan to play an antagonist. I rejected at least 10–12 villain roles because I didn’t like the stories. It depends on the script, not the type of role.”

His performance in Raid 2 has been praised for bringing intensity and freshness to the franchise.
