Known as Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan prioritizes quality over quantity. A method actor at heart, he has delivered some of Bollywood’s biggest hits, including Dangal, PK, and 3 Idiots. His dedication to excellence has made him one of the most respected figures in Indian cinema, with many actors and filmmakers eager to collaborate with him. Despite his iconic status, Aamir has reflected on the inevitable loss of fame and success.
Speaking to PTI via The Indian Express, Aamir shared his thoughts: “It’s not a question of ‘whether’ it will happen, but ‘when’ it will happen.” He continued, “I don’t fear losing my stardom. I am very clear that I will lose it all. There’s no doubt in my mind that there will come a day when I won’t have this fame. So why fear it? Death will come to all of us, and even creativity has its lifespan. Everything that exists will eventually be destroyed. I will lose all of this—definitely.”
He added, “What I fear more is whether we can achieve what we set out to create. The filmmaking process is so complex, and if we go wrong at even one step, the film won’t turn out as we envisioned it.”
Aamir went on to say, “My constant fear, the one that keeps me on my toes, is that. Have we achieved what we set out to do? That’s my biggest worry. We can’t afford to go wrong there. Will I lose my creativity? Definitely. Will I lose my fame? A hundred percent. There’s no question about it. It’s just a matter of time.”
On the professional front, Aamir Khan’s latest film, Laal Singh Chaddha, where he played the titular role, was a remake of the classic Forrest Gump. The film is now available on Netflix.
